More Than Quirky currently offers two specific Support Packages. You can submit the form at the bottom of this page if neither of these seem to offer what you’re after.

The Guidance Package is for families with neurodivergent, or suspected neurodivergent, children who need additional support or guidance in order to thrive. These families might already have a confirmation / diagnosis in place, but still feel like they’re struggling. Or they might be finding it difficult to get the initial support to get assessments or confirmation. Read more below.

The Radical Strategy is for families with neurodivergent or potentially neurodivergent kids who are currently doing well, not necessarily requiring additional support or therapies, and/or who might be adopting the approach of Radical Acceptance. It is also for kids who have been thriving, but have hit a hurdle. This Package provides preventative support and additional insight, to help neurodivergent kids continue to thrive into adolescence and adulthood. Read more below…

Guidance Package

The More Than Quirky Guidance Package is a flexible offering that provides tailored support for you and your child.

Is The Guidance Package What I Need?

The Guidance Package is a good fit for you if:

A teacher, carer, family friend, medical professional, etc, has suggested your child might be neurodivergent. This could include spotting traits of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, noticing ticks or stims, or observing learning or social differences
You have noticed something along these lines yourself, and are wondering if it’s worth looking into
You or your spouse is neurodivergent, and you want to figure out which of your child’s behaviours are innate (and neurodivergent) or learned!
Your child is confirmed as neurodivergent and is receiving medication and/or therapies, but isn’t thriving
Your child is confirmed as neurodivergent but you don’t feel you’ve been given enough information or support
Your child has been confirmed as neurodivergent, but not assessed in a way that gives you any insight into how their brain works, which areas are causing them difficulty, or what accommodations they might need
Your child’s school, health providers, clubs, or extra-curricular activities, need additional information or support to help your child thrive; or you need support when approaching them for positive or negative reasons
You aren’t sure if the strategies and techniques you have been encouraged to use are neuroaffirming, and you’d like to learn more
You’re struggling in any way related to your child’s neurodivergence, and want support making life easier for you, your child, and your family

What does it include?

The More Than Quirky Guidance Package is comprised of five (5) sections:

Foundation Session

A 1 hour (approx) Foundation Session. Parent(s) only, ideally, but can be discussed ahead of the session. This is your opportunity to chat, vent, cry, laugh, share, or anything else you feel you need to do! During this session I will ask questions based on the information you’re sharing with me, to build a comprehensive profile of your child, their traits and behaviours, any known neurodivergencies, and how all of this impacts on them and on you / your family. It’s a judgement-free zone, for getting to know and understand your situation, and for you to brain-dump safely.

This session can be conducted on Zoom, or at a café or in a park on the Upper North Shore. It is a casual catch-up rather than a formal meeting, interview, or assessment. I strongly recommend that it involves cake and coffee!

Insight & Empowerment Report

After the Foundation Session, you will have the opportunity to email me with anything else that comes to mind; often having these sessions unlocks lots of memories, ideas, and segues over the following day or two! Within 10 business days of the Foundation Session I will provide you with an Insight & Empowerment Report. This includes:

A summary of what you have shared (I am very happy to also provide an amended version should you wish to share this report with family or medical professionals, but don’t want all aspects included)
An overview of the traits and behaviours demonstrated by your child
Insight into these traits, how (if) they can be indicative of neurodivergence, why they might be occurring, and any strategies or techniques you can apply to reduce any dysregulation, hurt, or difficulties around them
Thoughts around whether it might be worth pursuing this further with your GP, paediatrician, or other medical professional, and what specific supports you might want to ask for. This includes which specific psychologist assessments, for example, you might want to request, to give you the information you actually need
Recommendations for next steps
Information about related and statistically relevant co-occurring conditions you might want to be aware of
Links to resources related to the topics and difficulties raised in this report by either party, including support for both the parent(s) and child

Reach-Out Call/Zoom/email x4 (optional)

As part of the More Than Quirky Guidance Package, you will have the option of booking up to four 15 minute Zoom or phone calls with me, at no additional cost, to talk about the report, discuss any concerns or glitches, or ask questions you’ve encountered since our initial meeting. If you’re not a Zoom or phone person, I am also happy for these point of contact to be via email.

Wellbeing Check-in (x3)

Over the following months, I will send you a number of Wellbeing Check-In emails. This gives you the opportunity to shout for help if needed, share any progress or concerns, and let me know how things are going. Your Wellbeing Check-In will also be an opportunity to book further extended meetings or packages with More Than Quirky for:

a more detailed look into something specific
help with school in terms of conversations with LaST, IEP conversations and/or development, or attending meetings to support you to achieve your goals
scripts and blueprints to ensure GPs and other medical professionals are validating your experience and providing adequate support for you and your child
starting the process for another child

Reflection Session

The final element of the More Than Quirky Guidance Package is a Reflection Session, which can be completed via online form, or on Zoom or in person. This will not only inform me as to what else I could provide to assist you, but will provide valuable feedback to continually improve what More Than Quirky offers; you will be able to share your own experience, as well as helping other parents and kids in a similar situation.

In 2025, More Than Quirky will be launching a Membership Program, and hosting online sessions. All past clients will automatically receive a one year subscription to the Membership Program, and discounts to all events (indefinitely).

Radical Strategy

The More Than Quirky Radical Strategy approaches known (medically confirmed or otherwise) neurodivergence with radical acceptance, with a focus on preventative, lifelong strategies and techniques.

IS THE RADICAL STRATEGY WHAT I NEED?

The Radical Strategy is a good fit for you if:

Your child is neurodivergent (medically confirmed or not); or they have neurodivergent siblings and you assume they are ND too but not in a way that seems to be causing them any significant distress
You might not feel your child’s neurodivergence is something that needs additional support at school, etc
You tend to utilise Radical Acceptance at home, and/or your household is ND so their neurodivergence is normal and relatively easily accommodated at home
You don’t / might not be choosing to engage therapists or allied health regarding their neurodivergence
You’re possibly choosing not to register for NDIS funding
You want your child to thrive but don’t want to go down the pathway of assessments for the sake of a formal identification
You feel your child already thrives, or at least is doing well enough, so you don’t require specific external support or advice
Your child was thriving but has hit some hurdles lately, such as finding it hard to find a peer group, seeming to have fewer Spoons, or changing academic or sporting success levels
You were/are doing therapies, but have hit Therapy Burnout, and want to know how to just trundle forwards for a while without the drive to “improve”
You’re keen to prevent statistically likely complications your child might encounter in adolescence and/or adulthood such as autistic burnout, underemployment or career difficulties, or social isolation

WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?

The More Than Quirky Radical Strategy is comprised of two (2) components:

Illumination Session

A 1 hour (approx) Illumination Session. Can be conducted as a parent-only session, or with child involved. An opportunity to share all the wonderful (and the tricky) things about your child, family, community, and anything else you feel is relevant. During this session I will ask questions based on the information you’re sharing with me, to build a comprehensive profile of your child, their traits and behaviours, any known or suspected neurodivergencies, and how all of this impacts on them and on you / your family. It’s a judgement-free zone, for getting to know and understand your situation, and for you to brain-dump safely.

Radical Empowerment Report

After the Illumination Session, you will have the opportunity to email me with anything else that comes to mind; often having these sessions unlocks lots of memories, ideas, and segues over the following day or two! Within 10 business days of the Illumination Session I will provide you with a Radical Empowerment Report. This includes:

A summary of what you have shared (I am very happy to also provide an amended version should you wish to share this report with family or medical professionals, but don’t want all aspects included)
An overview of the traits and behaviours demonstrated by your child
Insight into these traits, how (if) they can be indicative of neurodivergence, why they might be occurring, and any strategies or techniques you can apply to reduce any dysregulation, hurt, or difficulties around them
With Radical Acceptance of neurodivergence as the key focus, thoughts around whether it might be worth pursuing any of this further with your GP, paediatrician, or other medical professional, and what specific supports you might want to ask for. This includes which specific psychologist assessments, for example, you might want to request, to give you the information you actually need.
Information about related and statistically relevant co-occurring conditions you might want to be aware of, such as physical and mental health conditions
Links to resources related to the topics raised in this report by either party, particularly addressing possible “hiccups” your child might encounter during adolescence and adulthood, how to prevent or avoid them, and how to cope with them.
